Role of electrolyte in battery
1. Form a loop.
2. Provide reaction environment (acidic and alkaline).
3. Some provide reactants.
For example, the electrolyte solution generally participates in the positive electrode reaction. For example, the copper zinc primary battery obtains electrons from the hydrogen ions in the electrolyte solution to generate hydrogen on the positive copper sheet.
Because of the electrode potential problem, electrons can reach the positive electrode through the external circuit along the wire. If there is no closed circuit, the electrolyte solution gets electrons directly on the negative electrode.
